About Us

Nurturing Wellness Group Foundation LLC is a Wayne County, Michigan-based 501(c)(3) non-profit organization founded in November 2017 by Terri Brinston, RN, MA, CLNC, and CEO of MSN Consulting Services. Our primary focus is to help students and young adults overcome barriers that prevent or delay success in school and life by providing them access to a holistic support system.

Our program helps build students’ and families’ capacity for adaptation, self-management, career and employment preparation, self-advocacy, and learning. We achieve this through educational programming, prevention initiatives, mentoring, case management services, and parent support.

Terri Brinston

CEO

Terri Brinston is a certified legal nurse consultant, a master-prepared registered nurse, and the founder and CEO of My School Nurse. She is dedicated to helping young people reach their full potential and enjoys exploring new places and expressing herself through creativity in her free time.

Carla Saunders

Program Director

 

Carla Saunders is the Program Director of the Nurturing Wellness Group Foundation. Her role involves overseeing ongoing programs and being accountable for various tasks, such as planning, organizing, staffing, leading, and chairing program activities and committees.

A. Terry Brinston

Director of Extended Services

 

Terry Brinston serves as the Director of Operations for the Nurturing Wellness Group Foundation and My School Nurse. His main focus is on procurement and accounting, ensuring efficient and integrity-driven operations for both organizations.

Paul Edwards

Director of Extended Services

Paul Edwards is the Director of Extended Services. Paul a paramedic with over 30 years of experience working in the city of Detroit. He provides educational support, teaches CPR/AED/First Aid, and manages our medical support team through our MSN Fast service.

President

Jerald Saffold is an Ordained Licensed Minister and an active leader of a vibrant Prison Ministry at Washtenaw County Jail, where he serves as Associate Chaplain. He is a Legal Assistant and the owner of CC&D Consulting Services. He is a committed, passionate servant of God and a Christian Life Center Church member.

Carol B. Lewis

Vice President

Carol Lewis is the Founder and Owner of Red Carpet Title Agency and UpScale Jazz Warehouse Lounge. She is also the Broker of Cadillac Realty Group. She is a hard-working and driven Entrepreneur with a deep commitment to social empowerment. She deeply loves her family and is committed to serving others.

Florine Bond

Secretary

Florine Bond is a retired Social Worker from Community Care Services. She has also served at Hegira Programs Inc. and Starfish Family Services. She has a passion for helping others through the Women’s Missions Ministry and selfless acts of kindness. She is an active member of Middlebelt Baptist Church.

Thirkeld Marbury

Treasurer

Thirkeld Marbury Retired from Cassens Transport Company with over 38 years of service. He is an Entrepreneur and the former owner of Foxx Beauty Supply. He is wise with a calming serving spirit. He is a retired truck mechanic, photographer, and an active member of Middlebelt Baptist Church.

James Hamilton Jr.

Member at Large

James Hamilton served in the U.S. Army and retired as a First Sargent. He also retired from Ford Motor Company with over 30 years of service. He is an active member of Middlebelt Baptist Church and has served as a Trustee and Building and Grounds ministry. He enjoys golfing and serving others.

William Mohammed

Member at Large

William Mohammed has worked in the social service field in various roles, from youth worker to therapeutic counselor, and is currently with the Ford Motor Company. He continues his work with youth and families as a part of the Community Service Chairman of Local 892 while serving as the Vice President.
